One thing about me is that i can't unsee my childhood. Seriously,
Where did all the years go?
It feels so much like yesterday.
They say memories are life’s special moments,
Borrowed from the passing of time.
But I really wish this time hadn’t passed.
My childhood is what made me who I am today.
Thinking of it feels like home—
My happy, safe space.
Time at that age didn’t exist.
Neither did worries or the anxiety adulthood has brought us.
But life is a collection of moments, I guess.
When we were little, we always dreamed of growing up.
But no one told us what to do with all these passing years.
Is it because they thought we would go on with the usual odds?
Study, graduate, get a 9-to-5 job, marry, have kids, retire,
And then, probably, die like everyone else?
Nubwo bihira benshi,
Ese ni yo migambi umfitiye, MANA?
What about that little girl’s dream?
Should she let it go? Ignore it?
Or should she follow her dreams, hand in hand with You, God?
"And as she celebrates her 22 years of life today,
my only wish for her is to keep dreaming,
To stay hopeful in a world that often forgets
What it means to believe like a child.
But she is not alone—never have been.
With You, God, and the love of those around her,
She will step into this new year, heart open,
Grateful, expectant, and unafraid."
